Meet the Smart Girls
The Smart Girls are Marian Selvaggio and Kathlynn Smith. We began as colleagues and quickly became friends as we navigated our way through the world of construction law—an industry still perceived as a man's world.
Marian is as smart as they come. In 2002, she graduated from Loyola Law School Cum Laude and as a member of the prestigious Order Of The Coif.
Since then Marian has earned the reputation as being a rising star in construction litigation by successfully managing and resolving several multi-million dollar construction cases. Marian is the girl you want in your corner when things get tough.
Kathlynn graduated Cum Laude from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2004.
Hailing from Michigan, Kathlynn applies her Midwestern sensibilities to counsel clients in pre-litigation situations. Kathlynn expertly develops economical and innovative early resolutions to difficult cases. When resolution is not possible, Kathlynn provides clients with candid risk analysis and devises effective litigation strategies that maximize outcomes.
Our mission is to advance and support the success of women in the construction industry; out of this mission The Smart Girls' Guide to Construction Law was born. The Smart Girls' Guide is a practical tool for the construction professional with legal tips and understandable breakdowns of legal principles. We hope The Smart Girls' Guide to Construction Law provides you with some useful information. We also hope that The Smart Girls' mission inspires you to collaborate even more with other women in our industry. At the end of the day, the Smart Girls are in your corner.
